Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: (The standard) weight is the weight of the people of Mecca, and the (standard) measure is the measure of the people of Medina.Abu Dawud said: Al-Firyabi and Abu Ahmad have also transmitted from Sufyan in a similar way, and he (Ibn Dukain) agreed with them on the text. The version of Abu Ahmad has: "from Ibn 'Abbas" instead of Ibn 'Umar. It has also been transmitted by al-Walid b. Muslim from Hanzalah. This version has: "the weight of Medina and the measure of Mecca."Abu Dawud said: There is a variation in the text of the version of this tradition narrated by Malik b. Dinar from 'Ata' from the Prophet (ﷺ).

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet came (to Medina) and he told the people (regarding the payment of money in advance that they should pay it) for a known specified measure and a known specified weight and a known specified period.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: When the Prophet (ﷺ) entered the privy, he removed his ring.Abu Dawud said: This is a munkar tradition, i.e. it contradicts the well-known version reported by reliable narrators. On the authority of Anas the well-known version says: The Prophet (ﷺ) had a silver ring made for him. Then he cast it off. The misunderstanding is on the part of Hammam (who is the narrator of the previous tradition mentioned in the text). This is transmitted only by Hammam.

Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was asked about the slave-woman who committed adultery and was not protected (married). He said: If she commits adultery, then flog her and it she commits adultery again, then flog her and then sell her even for a rope. Ibn Shihab said: I do not know whether he said this (his statement pertaining to the sale of slave-woman) at the third or the fourth time. Ibn Shihab said that the word) dafir (used in the text) means rope.

It was narrated from Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) would go away (to relieve himself) he would go far away. He went to relieve himself when he was on one of his journeys, and said: "Bring me (water for) Wudu'." So I brought him (water for) Wudu', and he performed Wudu' and wiped over his Khuffs.The Shaikh [1] said: "Isma'il (one of the narrators) is Ibn Ja'far bin Abi Kathir Al-Qari.[1] Meaning the author, and it appears that Ibn As-Sunni who heard the text, said this.

أخبرنا علي بن حجر، قال أنبأنا إسماعيل، عن محمد بن عمرو، عن أبي سلمة، عن المغيرة بن شعبة، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا ذهب المذهب أبعد قال فذهب لحاجته - وهو في بعض أسفاره - فقال ‏"‏ ائتني بوضوء ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فأتيته بوضوء فتوضأ ومسح على الخفين ‏.‏ قال الشيخ إسماعيل هو ابن جعفر بن أبي كثير القارئ ‏.‏

Hafs reported that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) as saying, and the other version of this tradition transmitted through a different chain has: Abu Dharr said (and not the Prophet): If there is not anything like the back of a saddle in front of a man who is praying, then a donkey, a black dog, and a woman cut off his prayer. I asked him: Why has the black dog been specified, distinguishing it from a red, a yellow and a white dog? He replied: My nephew, I also asked the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) the same question as you asked me. He said: The black dog is a devil.

حدثنا حفص بن عمر، حدثنا شعبة، ح وحدثنا عبد السلام بن مطهر، وابن، كثير - المعنى - أن سليمان بن المغيرة، أخبرهم عن حميد بن هلال، عن عبد الله بن الصامت، عن أبي ذر، - قال حفص - قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقالا عن سليمان قال أبو ذر ‏"‏ يقطع صلاة الرجل - إذا لم يكن بين يديه قيد آخرة الرحل الحمار والكلب الأسود والمرأة ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فقلت ما بال الأسود من الأحمر من الأصفر من الأبيض فقال يا ابن أخي سألت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كما سألتني فقال ‏"‏ الكلب الأسود شيطان ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Narrated Jubair bin Mut`im: A woman came to the Prophet who ordered her to return to him again. She said, "What if I came and did not find you?" as if she wanted to say, "If I found you dead?" The Prophet said, "If you should not find me, go to Abu Bakr."

حدثنا الحميدي، ومحمد بن عبد الله، قالا حدثنا إبراهيم بن سعد، عن أبيه، عن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، عن أبيه، قال أتت امرأة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأمرها أن ترجع إليه‏.‏ قالت أرأيت إن جئت ولم أجدك كأنها تقول الموت‏.‏ قال عليه السلام ‏"‏ إن لم تجديني فأتي أبا بكر ‏"‏‏.‏

It wasnarrated that ‘Adi bin Hatim said: “I said: ‘O Messenger ofAllah, what if I shoot the game but it vanishes at night?’ He said:‘If you find your arrow in it and you do not find anything else,theneat it.’”

حدثنا محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أنبأنا معمر، عن عاصم، عن الشعبي، عن عدي بن حاتم، قال قلت يا رسول الله أرمي الصيد فيغيب عني ليلة قال ‏"‏ إذا وجدت فيه سهمك ولم تجد فيه شيئا غيره فكله ‏"‏ ‏.‏

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) bought from a Jew grain for a specified time; and gave him iron coat-of-mail of his as a pledge.

حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم الحنظلي، أخبرنا المخزومي، حدثنا عبد الواحد بن، زياد عن الأعمش، قال ذكرنا الرهن في السلم عند إبراهيم النخعي فقال حدثنا الأسود بن يزيد عن عائشة أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اشترى من يهودي طعاما إلى أجل ورهنه درعا له من حديد ‏.‏

Narrated Jubair bin Mut'im: that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to speak to him about something. Then he ordered her with something, and she said: "What should I do O Messenger of Allah if I do not find you?" He said: "If you do not find me, then go to Abu Bakr."

حدثنا عبد بن حميد، حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم بن سعد، قال حدثنا أبي، عن أبيه، قال أخبرني محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، عن أبيه، جبير بن مطعم أخبره أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أتته امرأة فكلمته في شيء وأمرها بأمر فقالت أرأيت يا رسول الله إن لم أجدك قال ‏"‏ فإن لم تجديني فأت أبا بكر ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قال أبو عيسى هذا حديث غريب من هذا الوجه ‏.‏

Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent us along with a contingent, and said: If you find so-and-so. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect.

حدثنا يزيد بن خالد، وقتيبة، أن الليث بن سعد، حدثهم عن بكير، عن سليمان بن يسار، عن أبي هريرة، قال بعثنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في بعث فقال ‏"‏ إن وجدتم فلانا وفلانا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فذكر معناه ‏.‏

It was narrated from 'Adiyy bin Hatim that he asked the Messenger of Allah about hunting and he said: "When you release your arrow or your dog, mentioned the name of Allah, and when your arrow kills (the game), then eat." He said: "What if it gets away form me for a night, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "If you find your arrow and you do not find the mark of anything else, then eat it. But if it falls into the water, do not eat it."

أخبرنا عمرو بن يحيى بن الحارث، قال حدثنا أحمد بن أبي شعيب، قال حدثنا موسى بن أعين، عن معمر، عن عاصم بن سليمان، عن عامر الشعبي، عن عدي بن حاتم، أنه سأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الصيد فقال ‏"‏ إذا أرسلت سهمك وكلبك وذكرت اسم الله فقتل سهمك فكل ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قال فإن بات عني ليلة يا رسول الله قال ‏"‏ إن وجدت سهمك ولم تجد فيه أثر شىء غيره فكل وإن وقع في الماء فلا تأكل ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that 'Adiyy bin Hatim said: "I asked the Messenger of Allah about hunting and he said: 'When you shoot your arrow, mention the name of Allah, and if you find that it (the game) has been killed, the eat it, unless you find that it fell into some water, and you do not know whether the water killed it or your arrow."'

أخبرنا أحمد بن منيع، قال حدثنا عبد الله بن المبارك، قال أخبرني عاصم الأحول، عن الشعبي، عن عدي بن حاتم، قال سألت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الصيد فقال ‏"‏ إذا رميت سهمك فاذكر اسم الله عز وجل فإن وجدته قد قتل فكل إلا أن تجده قد وقع في ماء ولا تدري الماء قتله أو سهمك ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Tha’labah al-khushani said that he asked the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ): We live in the neighbourhood of the People of the Book and they cook in their pots(the flesh of) swine and drink wine in their vessels. The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: If you find any other pots, then eat in them and drink. But if you do not find any others, then wash them with water and eat and drink (In them).

حدثنا نصر بن عاصم، حدثنا محمد بن شعيب، أخبرنا عبد الله بن العلاء بن زبر، عن أبي عبيد الله، مسلم بن مشكم عن أبي ثعلبة الخشني، أنه سأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إنا نجاور أهل الكتاب وهم يطبخون في قدورهم الخنزير ويشربون في آنيتهم الخمر ‏.‏ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إن وجدتم غيرها فكلوا فيها واشربوا وإن لم تجدوا غيرها فارحضوها بالماء وكلوا واشربوا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Narrated 'Adi b. Hatim: The Prophet (ﷺ) as saying: When you shoot your arrow and mention Allah's name, and you find it (the game) after a day, and you do not find it in water, and you find in it only the mark of you arrow, eat (it). But if another dog joins your dogs, do not eat it, for you do not know maybe the one which was not yours has killed it.

حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل، حدثنا حماد، عن عاصم الأحول، عن الشعبي، عن عدي بن حاتم، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال ‏"‏ إذا رميت بسهمك وذكرت اسم الله فوجدته من الغد ولم تجده في ماء ولا فيه أثر غير سهمك فكل وإذا اختلط بكلابك كلب من غيرها فلا تأكل لا تدري لعله قتله الذي ليس منها ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as say- ing: There was a dispute between the Hell and the Paradise and it (the Hell) said: The haughty and the proud would find abode in me. And the Paradise said: The meek and the humble would find their abode in me. Thereupon Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, (addressing the Hell) said: You are (the means) of My punishment by which I punish those of My servants whom I wish. (And addressing the Paradise) He said: You are only My Mercy by means of which 1 shall show mercy to those whom I wish, but each one of you would be full.

حدثنا ابن أبي عمر، حدثنا سفيان، عن أبي الزناد، عن الأعرج، عن أبي هريرة، قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ احتجت النار والجنة فقالت هذه يدخلني الجبارون والمتكبرون ‏.‏ وقالت هذه يدخلني الضعفاء والمساكين فقال الله عز وجل لهذه أنت عذابي أعذب بك من أشاء - وربما قال أصيب بك من أشاء - وقال لهذه أنت رحمتي أرحم بك من أشاء ولكل واحدة منكما ملؤها ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: There would come to the people a time when a detachment would be sent for fighting in the cause of Allah and they would say: See, if you can find amongst them someone from amongst the Companions of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him). They would find a person and they would be granted victory because of him. Then a second detachment would be sent to them and they would say: Do you find amongst them one who had had the privilege of seeing the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him)? -and the victory would be granted to them because of him. Then the third detachment would be sent and it would be said to them: See, if you find amongst them (who had had the honour of seeing one) who saw those who saw the Companions of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him). Then the fourth detachment would be sent and it would be said to them: See it you find amongst them one who had the privilege (of seeing) one who saw those who saw those who saw the Companions of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), and a person would be found and they would be granted victory because of him.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: A woman came to Allah's Apostle and said, "I present myself (to you) (for marriage). She stayed for a long while, then a man said, "If you are not in need of her then marry her to me." The Prophet said, "Have you got anything m order to pay her Mahr?" He said, "I have nothing with me except my Izar (waist sheet)." The Prophet said, "If you give her your Izar, you will have no Izar to wear, (so go) and search for something. He said, "I could not find anything." The Prophet said, "Try (to find something), even if it were an iron ring But he was not able to find (even that) The Prophet said (to him). "Do you memorize something of the Qur'an?" "Yes. ' he said, "such Sura and such Sura," naming those Suras The Prophet said, "We have married her to you for what you know of the Qur'an (by heart).
